Our Malaysia and Vietnam trek is the perfect combination of Southeast Asians cities. Travel time is limited, but the experiences are plentiful. Kuala Lumpur offers a big city vibe as well as classic Malaysian sites including the Batu Caves and Elephant Conservation Centre. Hanoi will give you a taste of Vietnam’s unique culture before ending the trip sailing the waters of Ha Long Bay.

Itinerary Overview
Day 1 - Kuala Lumpur

Welcome to Kuala Lumpur! Kuala Lumpur (or KL, as it is commonly known) is, often, a traveler’s point of entry to Malaysia. As the capital, it is the most modern and developed city in the country, with contemporary high-rises and world-class hotels, glitzy shopping malls, and local and international cuisine.

Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur

Pickup from your hotel and proceed for KL city tour which will cover the capital city’s famous landmark. You will be visiting (picture stop) the KL tower, National Mosque (Dress code applies) and National museum. Delve deep into the history of pewter at Royal Selangor Pewter and visit the limestone Hindu temple of Batu Caves before heading off to Bukit Melawati, well-loved by bird watchers, for panoramic views of the Straits of Malacca. Proceed to Kuala Selangor for a sumptuous seafood dinner and cruise the Selangor River to see the twinkling fireflies.

Day 3 - Kuala Lumpur

Pick up from your hotel and transfer overland to Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre to spend a day with these giants of the rainforest. Learn how the elephants are rescued and rehabilitated through an informative video show before observing them in their natural habitat and getting close enough to touch and maybe even give them a bath. Return to Kuala Lumpur to freshen up before your night walk tour.

In the evening, meet with your tour leader and depart for your evening trip to explore the night life at the city. Proceed for leisure walk to Chinatown before moving forward to Petronas Twin Tower. After the visit (Photo stop), your leader will bring you to a famous rooftop bar around the area and onward for dinner.

Day 4 - Kuala Lumpur

Check out from your hotel and transfer to airport for your flight to Hanoi.

Welcome to Hanoi, founded in early 11th century as the Capital of Vietnam. Your leader will leave all the necessary information for your first exploration of Hanoi. You can head out for an optional group dinner in a local restaurant to have the first impression of the Vietnamese define cuisine.

Day 5 - Halong Bay

Travel by minibus to the spectacular World Heritage-listed site of Halong Bay (approximately 4 hours). The bay is a breathtaking secluded harbor with some 2,000 limestone islands jutting out of the waters of the Bac Bo Gulf. Board your boat and cruise among the dramatic limestone peaks. There’s an opportunity to swim in the famous Vietnam East Sea and explore caves filled with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Spend a peaceful night on board, beneath a sky alive with stars. Your sailing junk has twin-share cabins, air-conditioning and private facilities. There’s also a dining room and bar. You will have a chance to kayak in the afternoon around Vung Vieng, a very nice area.

Day 6 - Hanoi

As the boat continues to cruise along the majestic peaks, there will be new opportunities to immerse ourselves in Ha Long Bay’s mystical quality. After returning to port, you will head to your hotel, right after that, you will head out to Bai Tho Mountain for a trek in the middle of nature.

Day 7 - Hanoi

Enjoy the peaceful morning around Halong bay and Bai Chay beach in the morning before heading back to Hanoi.

This evening, head out to explore the unique ambiance of the Old Quarter while discovering the most famous night food-stalls.

Day 8 - Hanoi

Embark on a half-day tour of the city. Your first destination will be Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi. From there, you will be guided to Van Mieu – The Temple of Literature – the first Vietnamese University, founded in 11th century by the Emperor Ly Thai Tong. Learn about the educational system in the traditional Vietnam which was still applied until early 20th century. Make the way inside the local market and enjoy a typical lunch. Later today, pay a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex.

Heading to the Water Puppets shows by 5:15pm in the heart of Hanoi Old Quarter before heading to Polite & Co for their Happy-Hours

Day 9 - Hanoi

This morning, you will explore one of the local markets in Hanoi before heading to a cooking-centre for a unique experience. Learn all the smallest tips to have a great Vietnamese meal.

At the end of the day, enjoy a drink on one of the best-viewed-rooftop bar before heading to Cau Go Restaurant for your last meal in Hanoi.

This afternoon heading out of Hanoi to discover the villages by bicycle. Cycling along the banks of the Red River exploring one of the largest deltas of Vietnam, where traditional villages have been there since almost “ever”.

Day 10 - Depart Hanoi

There are no activities planned today, enjoy and explore the city on you own before heading out to the airport for your flight back home.
