Bschool Travel partners with the world’s leading universities to design and develop highly-customized academic immersion programs both domestically and abroad. In our role, we mostly work with BBA, MBA and Executive MBA programs to curate 1-2 week study trips focused on company visits, business interactions, and cultural activities. As a young company (founded in 2018) we are looking for new team members who are interested in being part of our core team as we scale into new universities and markets. Candidates should not only have a passion for educational travel, but also for entrepreneurship and a fast paced growth environment.
Position
As a Business Development Representative at Bschool Travel, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities with leading universities across the U.S and abroad. You will be responsible for identifying new university clients that offer educational travel programs and will qualify these leads through research and discovery conversations with the study trip leaders, faculty, and/or program directors.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential partnership opportunities, marketing segments, and stakeholders. Develop a comprehensive awareness and understanding of US partner universities, including the needs, pain points, and priorities of the students, staff, and faculty regarding education abroad.
- Develop a constant pipeline of new business opportunities through research of potential buyer profiles in conjunction with weekly/monthly production targets and track engagement metrics.
- Conduct high-volume cold calls and email campaigns to generate new leads
- Schedule discovery calls and support the sales team in converting leads
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership to refine outreach messaging and strategy
- Update and maintain client account records through the CRM software.
- Summarize and transition qualified leads over to Business Development Managers for further clarification of client needs and proposal development.
- Strategically engage the community to increase awareness of our brand and inspire interest. Make introductory calls, identify opportunities to expand your network, and creatively approach each client, rather than using a “1 size fits all” approach.
- Execute the appropriate research and data entry to develop a lead generation list and maintain an accurate database of lead history. Follow lead trends closely and identify opportunities for improvement in lead generation.
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to develop relevant content, materials and outreach campaign strategies.
- Book meetings for the Sales Team to prospect clients in person at regional and international education conferences.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in B2B inside sales, business development, or lead generation with a proven ability to generate new business
- Comfortable with cold outreach and able to handle rejection with persistence and professionalism
- You are self-motivated, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and have the ability to build instant rapport.
- You thrive in a goal-oriented environment that requires strategic planning, networking, and identification of key decision makers.
- Strong computer and data entry skills are required.
- Good customer service, written communication, and phone skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be coachable, dependable, and goal-oriented.
- Ability to work independently.
- Possess knowledge of University purchasing processes including MBA and Study Abroad buyer personas.
- Previous experience related to higher education or the Ed-Tech sector is a plus.
- Passionate about employing new techniques and software to accelerate the sales process.
- Enjoy researching and analyzing buyer profiles and setting a strategy for subsequent engagement.
- Excel at qualifying sales leads and utilize a consultative sales approach.
- Experience working with Hubspot or alternative CRM systems.
- Have a persistent attitude and are willing to go the extra mile when prepping for client conversations.
- Interest in working in a fast-paced, multicultural team environment with a passion for travel.
